Margaret “Margie” Maguire was born on June 27th, 1954. She was the oldest child and only daughter of Peggy and Ed Maguire. She is survived by her mom and brothers Jimmy, Brian and Edward, and numerous nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Margie was a gifted hairstylist and was unmatched in her sense of style and how she could bring that style to life. She was a pistol who liked to shake things up wherever she went. Her personality could fill any room and bring it to life. She loved people and animals and was selfless in her support of those she loved. She bravely fought off cancer for many years and never let it take away her spunk, wit or determination. We will miss her greatly, but her spirit will always be with us. She was a wonderful daughter and sister and will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sean Casey Animal Rescue

Dearest Margie, I, like so many of our friends, have known and loved you for over fifty years. I have many fond memories of hanging out on a stoop on 63rd street. They were the best of times. Although the years took us in different directions we did occasionally have random encounters. It always made me smile to see you and engage in mindless conversation. We would pick up where we left off even if it was ten or twenty years later. I hope it made you feel the same. We did have a few phone conversations over the past few years but far too few. I'm happy for the good times we spent together. You made a difference. You showed incredible courage and resolve the past few years. We can all learn a lesson from you. Thank you for being you. I hope some day we will have another random encounter. Yes, they were the best of times. Rest peacefully.

My dear cousin Margie.....Very close as children and then separated by situations beyond our control. So happy that we reconnected in our adulthood and glad to see you hadn't changed a bit. You never failed to remind me of the time as kids that we decided to shave our forearms using my dad's foam and straight edge....and you being (always) the brave one went first....and then me chickening out because we were on the verge of getting caught, running around like Banshees in Nana's upstairs apartment and hiding from the boy cousins behind and even under her bed.....and giggling at our private jokes. As an adult, I could always count on you to say what was on your always knew where they stood with you, good or bad. I'm sorry we lost so much time and that you had such a difficult road to heaven but you're in good company now and I hope you are at peace. By the way, I'm sure you look awesome with make-up on and every hair in place. RIP
