I am so saddened and greif stricken to hear about the death of my (our) Aunt Margaret, almost 12 days later with no time to pay my respects.

Aunt Margaret was a very special lady to her extended family in New London.

She brought light to my day, since my mother’s passing, as she and I would reminisce about the days of old and I learned about my elders as told through your eyes.

When I was on a business trip to Brooklyn less than a year after my mother’s death Aunt Margaret gave me directions from memory, including landmarks on how to get to my destination close to where she used to work at the bank. I made plans to tentatively meet her for lunch. I made a few wrong turns before getting to my destination and as I was stopped at a light I saw a lady at the intersection. It was my Aunt Margaret. How could that possibly have happened? What are the odds that our paths would have crossed at precisely that moment. It felt like I was wrapped in a blanket of love, with my mother, grandma Dipollina and Aunt Sadie all watching over us. I will never forget that day!

When Benjamin and I visited Aunt Margaret a few years ago, we were amazed at her agility in getting up the stairs to her apartment and how she got out for walks through the neighborhood every day. We especially loved seeing the old pictures of the family and hearing the beautiful stories about each and every family member.

You will always have a large place in our hearts and minds.

You will be loved and cherished forever.

Love always,

Cathleen and families
G
